Two new forms of theft that emerged as a result of changes in society were train robbery and safecracking. Train robbery became rampant as the use of trains was almost naionwide, some of the previous cargo and lack of security made trains an easy target. Many people held safe's to keep their valuables, so that was not an uncommon thing to steal as well, as people got pretty innovative in how they drilled into these metal boxes.
