The Empire State Building is situated in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, on Fifth Avenue between West 33rd and 34th Streets. It has 102 stories and is measured to be 1,454 feet including the rod. The 29th - tallest building in the world was said to be a cultural icon of America. Though it was made out as a competition of skycrapers at its time, it aided to the Great Depression experienced by the state on 1930s where 3400 everyday workers were able to work with great pay and being the tallest building at that time (for 40 years after World Trade Center), it gave sense of pride to its citizens.
