Discuss the contradictions of the Progressive Movement

There were two main contradictions. One is that they believed that all people should be equal, which was seen in their fight for African-American rights, but at the same time they didn't allow women all the same rights. The second big contradiction was that they wanted to protect the working class, but they didn't really consider them to be important like the big companies.
