    In the 1960s Ravi Shanker met and taught members of the world-famous Beattles band.

    Ravi Shanker was a famous Indian folk artist with Bengali ancestry. He was born in Varansi and was known for his original Hindustani classical music.

    He eventually started to tour the world and his work was often promoted among the 60's free-love hippie movement.

    The Hari-Krishnas were strong promoters of his work.

    He famously met the group members of the Beatles where they had a discussion on music, instruments and arts
