    Personal freedom is majorly limited because they are not granted freedom of religion. They are required to practice Islam, even if this is not what they believe. They are also not allowed to be homosexual, and they cannot leave the country without special permission. Also the ba'ath party controls the press, so freedom of speech is limited and the information they receive is very biased.
