What are some differences between medieval towns and medieval villages?

    Economy. Villages were based on agriculture (i. e farming, herding, fishing) whereas towns handled manufacture and trade. Townsmen consisted of merchant, artisans, you get the gist, who handled manufactured goods in the market.
