The goal of German disarmament was to prevent another war in which Germany used their military to aggressively conquer other countries. The military was reduced to be enough to defend their country and they could only carry enough weapons for each of the military members. The Allies destroyed all excessive weapons and put into place restrictive measures to prevent future buildup.
