Which would be a good historical evidence when studying manifest destiny?

One of the things you could look at when studying manifest destiny would be the Mexican American War, since a major rational for beginning this conflict was to expand US territory in the west/south. Another thing to look at would be the transcontinental railroad, since this facilitated the movement of settlers west.
