Why did the March on Washington increase public sympathy for civil rights?

    The public realized how serious the movement was because they continue to be peaceful while spreading inspiring messaged throughout that day including MLKs I have a dream speech. It also brought sympathy because of the huge turnout for the event totaling over 200, 00 people. Additionally, the huge crowd was full of not only blacks but whites as well and this symbolized unity to the public.
