Why was Spartan society focused on war?

They were constantly under attack and needed to defend themselves.

They envied Athens and hoped to conquer it eventually.

They believed that their gods approved of war-like societies.

They believed that war was the way to keep order in society.

    It was part of their laws that spartan men had to join the millitary and went to the millatary school from the age of 7 it was all part of lycurgus’s laws so technically they were forced to focus on wars and fighting
