    John Brown's raid failed, meaning that slaves did not get the weapons.

    He was not elected to be a state Representative.

    Slaves were not given more rights, in fact, they were given less rights.

    Because he tried to steal weapons from a arsenal for the war, he was caught and the raid failed. He was then sentenced to be hanged.
