Why were there so many political revolutions in the 17th and 18th centuries

The American Revolution in the 1700's was because America was mad at Britain and wanted freedom.

Later on in the 1800's the Civil War occurred, which was a USA war only and the Union and Confederate where fighting. Confederate thought slavery was right, Union wanted to make it illegal. Union won.
