    Ford continued the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty with the Russians. It also entered the Helsinki Accord with the U. S. S. R. to monitor human rights compliance. It also tried to mediate the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. It made progress with the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict through the efforts of Henry Kissinger. The most significant event of his foreign policy was the end of the Vietnam War.
