If a bill passes the house of representatives, what is the next step in the process of a bill becoming a law?

    After passing the House, a bill needs to also move through the Senate approval process. This requires a vote to consider the bill, then next would be a committee to research it (if necessary), and then a Senate vote. All of this must be done and pass through both houses of Congress before a bill can go to the president's desk.
