Economic sanctions imposed on South Africans. deKlerk and Mandela strong forces against apartheid. Governments around the world put pressure on apartheid regime by refusing to do business with South Africa. Wealthy South Africans realized that to continue with racial segregation meant economic isolation from the rest of the world.
