Why did african americans and unions drift towards the democratic party during the great depression

For the answer to the questions above, Because they just made the middle class, lower class, and poor (the 99%) of the economy which represents Democratic Party represented while the Republican Party main supporters were the rich and famous they are the remaining 1% which are at the top of the triangle.
