How did african americans respond to white business owners who wouldn't serve them during segregation?

    Many cases, black entrepunuers started their own business to provide services and products. In 1950s and 1960s segregated businesses were subjects to boycotts and sit ins. In this tactic the blacks would occupy the seats so other customers could not be served. Where they sit in the whites only areas, many were arrested or taken out by force. They started their own business to serve their community. Some african americans and some whites went on a freedom ride around the deep south. Most events telivised, they saw it when they were getting beaten up and hurt by the police,
