The Republican Party picked William Howard Taft as their candidate. This upset Teddy Roosevelt, as he felt he should have been the Republican Party nominee. As a result, Roosevelt forms the Progressive Party. From there, these two Progressives square off against Woodrow Wilson. Wilson is a Progressive Democrat, and the eventual winner of the 1912 election.
