    Jan van Eyck (1395 - 1441, Netherlands) introduced a power of oil painting. He was one of the most influential painters. He showed that oil made paintings look realistic and inspired many Renaissance artists at the time. With oil painting art pieces looked more real than before. His famous works are: Crucifixion and Last Judgement, Ghent Altarpiece, Arnolfini portrait.
