What environmental effects did the new steel mills of Europe and North America create?

    North American transformed their environment faster than the European. In the production of cotton for example, they needed to cut down a large number of Forests, and grow cotton on that land until the soils were Delpeted

    Overall, the new steel mills caused a lot of harms to the environment
