    France:

    New police force called "serjents" (1828) was introduced by Louis-Maurice Debelleym.

    --police were there to protect citizens, not control them

    GB:

    The constable system failed - - > police "bobbies" were introduced

    Germany:

    Schutsmannschaft (basically the German version of British police)
