    I believe the answer is: "There are today upwards of sixty millions of Socialists ..."

    The ideology that promoted by socialist country actually appeal to many people outside the soviet union, including united states. Sixty millions pretty much sum up the number of people who opened minded toward implementing some of the socialist value in united states.
