How was the cuban missile crisis resolved in your personal opinion did it relate at all to Americas foreign policies

The Cuban Missile Crisis, was located in Cuba, and posed a threat to the U. S due to the fact that it was within missile range of Florida. It was resolved by an agreement between President John F. Kennedy and Premier Kruschev, which ended with The Russians sending back their ships containing the missiles. In my own opinion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, however, did not relate to the American Foreign policies.
