How did Eastern European ethnic and religious groups contribute to American culture in the 1800s?

In 1609 the Dutch East India Company sent Henry Hudson to investigate the region where New York City is now. There shaped a settlement named New Holland and its capital was New Amsterdam. The Puritan religion accompanied the Quakers and Amish, who settled along the Delaware Waterway; additionally the Baptists and Mennonites originated from Eastern Europe. The new Pennsylvania town developed quickly with the German peasants of the Rin River and with the Irish-Scots who later arrived.
