Explain how farming affected the cowboys and their lifestyle.

Well history of the cowboys have been for many years in different areas thus each culture is slightly different. Although you must assume that farming effected them greatly. How else would they get food to survive? I am assuming potatoes was there primary source of food because it can grow in desolate areas such as the ones cowboys lived in.
