    The Supreme Court case the struck down state laws banning abortion was Roe v. Wade, which was decided upon in 1974. This court case had a huge impact on the changing political face of the nation by pushing a large number of Evangelical voters to the Republican Party, making the latter the pro-life party as opposed to the pro-choice contingent of the Democratic Party.
