What role did religious intolerance play in the founding of new england colonies other than plymouth and massachusetts bay and in the founding of some middle colonies?

    Some of them such as Rhode Island and Connecticut were found for those who weren't puritans and didn't want to be ruled by Puritans who were very rigid. Maryland was formed for Catholic people who wanted to freely be Catholic. Some were even formed by people like Mormons who wanted to escape prosecution.
