How did the African American civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s address the failures of Reconstruction?

    The Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s in the United States focussed on correcting that Reconstruction failed to do--which was to give equaly opportunity and a fair deal to African Americans.
