The coronation ceremony of Mughal Emperor, Jahangir is styled in a grad manner not only to glorify him but also to exhibit power and status as a new ruler of a vast Empire. When a transition of power takes place it is always an uncertain time, however, a new ruler can often solidify their hold on power by demonstrating its presence and status to others. Government displays or traditions, such as a coronation ceremony is a great place to display such things to internal rivals, the people, and outside entities.
