How the Past Affects Us Today Since the great depression?

It affects us in many ways? You could say it was what forced the government to take action to put a minimum wage and minimum pricing on goods such as corn, potatoes, etc. It also made way for the federal government to give loans out to farmers and really push to buy the surplus goods and give it to the poverty line of americans.
