I believe that he strongly disagreed with the British way of life and politics, and wanted a new nation which was recently founded to be free to make its own laws and politics which wouldn't depend on a faulty system. He wanted a system of democracy, where each man could choose his or her own fate, and he believed that under the British rule, America would never be able to attain that.
