As president, what was George W. Bush's main accomplishment regarding immigration? He proposed and signed into law a guest worker program. He succeeded in ending illegal immigration into the United States. He authorized a 700-mile-long fence along the US border with Mexico. He changed US immigration policy and allowed illegal immigrants to stay.

    The answer is he authorized the 700 mile long fence. On September 29, 2006, by a poll of 80-19 the U. S. Senate established H. R. 6061 approving, and partly backing the "conceivable" construction of 700 miles (1,125 km) of bodily fence/fences along the border.
