Dr. King believed in nonviolent protests such as marches, sit-ins, and boycotts. He wanted to have the people on his side when he fought. He appealed to the masses of the public with speeches that were so effective, they are quoted to this day. He used the law and the courts and people to peacefully march towards equality.
