The Revolutionary Government Junta of El Salvador was the military dictatorship ruled in El Salvador. This was the group in which Oscar Romero opposed. In its time, it was the cause of executions, unexplained disappearances, and tortures. Romero denounced the oppression of the Catholic church members who serve the poor. In less than three years, around fifty priests have been attacked and threatened. Six were murdered and some have been tortured. Oscar Romero was assassinated while offering mass in Divine Providence.
