The Renaissance was a time of re-birth. The Greco-Roman ideas came back in a flood, and great men like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael influenced entire cultures. The idea of the "Renaissance man" became the ideal person. He was someone who could invent, succeed in the sciences, paint, sculpt, carpentry, write, read, and so much more. During this time, Science once again came into popularity. Astronomy and the study of the earth also became popular. For the first time in a very long time, people began to question how things worked and how things were made up. The ideas that sprung from this time carried into the Scientific Revolution.
