    Jim Crow laws were especially prevelant in the South during the early to mid 20th century. These laws called for the segregation of African-American and white citizens. These laws resulted in segregated public facilities such as swimming pools, parks, etc. These laws also allowed for segregated private facilities like hotels and restauraunts. Jim Crow laws resulted in inadequate facilities for millions of African Americans in Southern states.
