During the independence movements of many Latin American countries, many wealthy citizens moved back to Spain. Explain why this presented a problem for the new nations.

This was probably a problem because the rich people, the ones that have the majority of the money and play a major role in society are moving back to Spain. Not only does Spain get more money, they get more power and population. The more population, money, and power, the bigger army, more armour, and new ideas. This was bad news for the new nations because they were at risk of being attacked from a great force.
