There were many negative effects on families after the Great Depression in the 1930s. Most people put their savings into banks before the Depression, so when it happened, they lost almost all of their money, which means they were left nearly bankrupted. This of course had a negative impact on everyone's lives - family relations were strained as there was not enough money for food or other basic amenities, people were getting married less and less because they couldn't support their families, there were many job losses because companies couldn't pay their workers, and overall, it was a difficult time for everyone.
