Can you explain why muhammad's turning from Jerusalem and facing mecca is called symbolic break with the past? (A symbolic break would be a change with special meaning. Why was this act significant?)

    It changed leadership from the Jews hands to the Muslims. It also gave the Muslims a separate nation from the Jews.
