Why did the Virginia House of Burgesses condemn the Stamp Act? A. Virginians did not want to pay more for rum. B. Wills, deeds, and other legal documents were still valid in court, even if the taxes had not been paid. C. The members of the House of Burgesses believed that only they had the authority to levy taxes in Virginia. D. Virginians were opposed to the portions of the law which required them to house British troops in private homes.
