Why did Washington think that asking the british government to reduce taxes was the wrong course of action.

    George Washington had served in the British military. I was unable to find any statement by him saying that the British government should reduce taxes. He was not happy with the British closing Boston harbor and killing colonists. And the colonists had tried on several occasions to talk to the British government. He felt military action was needed.
