    The colonies were more democratic than England because the majority of the people who were willing to commit to the opportunities in the New World, were more inclined to find freedoms of religion, speech, markets and other factors related to freedom, because of the pressures in their more restrictive homelands and thus more interested in participating in and creating a new, more democratic process.
