What factor led to rapid growth in chicago minneapolis and denver?

    The invention of rail systems made for rapid growth. Trains were used for both transport of people and consumable goods. The interstate railway was an easy way to avoid taxation over state lines and it was ruled that it was not constitutional for states to set rates on the interstate commerce.
