Why do you think more advanced cultures would develop among farming societies rather than among hunting and gathering societies

A farming society stays in one place. While hunting and gathering societies hunt and move once they start to use up all of the resources they have. while a farming society makes a life in one area without running out of resources. This would also make more permanent civilizations.
