S. attorney general was fired for refusing to fire the prosecutor involved. c. riots broke out in Washington after the Watergate scandal was made public and consequently ten people died and many were injured. d. a prosecutor investigating Watergate was fired and the U. S. attorney general and his second in command resigned after refusing to fire the prosecutor involved.
