Why did the people of medieval towns usually support a strong monarchy over the feudal system?

    Depends on a time and region but most of all it was knights who were social estate that wa smsot dependable to king Medieval towna had very strong autonomous local government thefore supporting strong moanrch would damage their power nad in their view it uphold the balance of power because weaking a king would led to emerged not more indpendence of knights ut rise of some prominent overlord to take over crown for himself
