How was Theodore Roosevelt's approach to the environment different from that of modern-day environmentalists?

    He was not an "earthy person" in the present day feeling of the term. He didn't trust that nature ought to be protected for nature's purpose. As a Christian and an American, he trusted that the country's normal assets were to be overseen for the advantage of who and what is to come.
