    A. The division of Western Europe into small Germanic kingdoms

    Many new Germanic states rose like the state of Franks and the Holy Roman Empire which consisted of Germanic tribes and also there were new states that rose throughout Italy. It became a feudal system of City-States that didn't exist when there was a strong central Roman Empire.
