In france napoleon moved to increase his power by making it permanent and heredity. What does this mean

    If he is only a general, his Children would not have any benefit from his title.

    So, he decided to became a france emperor. If He became an emperor, the position will be held by his Son when he died. Which mean that the position as an emperor will continue throughout his bloodline (permanent and heredity)
