How did British imperialism affect Indian agriculture during the 1800s?

Peasants could finally own property and this created a new class of producers.

The population exploded due to bumper crops after British reorganization of communal farms.

Millions died from famine when the British tried to transform Indian agriculture.

India's hand-weaving industry was ruined, causing more farms to produce food.

    Millions died from famine when the British tried to transform Indian agriculture.

    In order t o claim new lands for natural resources, many European countries launched different missions in order to find ways to have more land or to use at the minor cost possible the land that was already yours. in India, this was translated with the necessity of building an agricultural system different from what was thhere before, resulting in illions of people died of famine, since the new crops planted by the Britain were not right for the type of land that India was.
